Let's break it down

Frequently asked questions

What's the benefit of mixing down to tape?

It's not magic, and it's not going to make a low quality mix suddenly sound legendary. However, mixing or mastering music on analog tape can help give it an authentically vintage feel that digital methods struggle to properly emulate. The natural compression you get from recording onto tape can help make your mix sound dynamically balanced and tight, and even the little imperfections like tape hiss add a real and genuine touch. Producers and engineers who are searching for organic, naturally imperfect sounds occasionally choose analog tape to help add a timeless and unique character to their music.

How long will it take to receive my bounced / mastered files?

Our turnaround time is two business days.

What tape format do you record on?

Currently we record on LPR35 1/4" tape at both 7.5ips and 15ips. More tape formats coming.

Will I receive a roll of tape with my recording on it?

As of now we are not including physical reels of tape with any orders; you'll receive digital recordings only. We may consider this as a future offering.

How should I submit the audio files?

Using our Order Form you can easily upload your files and complete your order. We currently accept MP3 and WAV only, however our recommendation is that you submit a 24-bit WAV file.
